Founder & CEO
Iwashina was a senior agent in the Independent & International Film Group at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) before founding Preferred Content in 2010. He is active in the non-profit sector and serves and the Chairman of the Board of the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) and is a member of the Board of Director of the International Documentary Association (IDA). Iwashina holds a B.A. in English Literature from the U.C.L.A. He began his career in the mailroom of the United Talent Agency (UTA).
Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Bright oversees the complete slate of narrative and documentary projects seeking distribution. Prior to joining PC, Bright spent a year in CAA's Digital Content Packaging group, which exposed him to the worlds of non-traditional content financing, packaging, distribution and monetization. He graduated from the esteemed S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and was raised in the Catskill Mountains region of upstate New York.
Vice President, Non-Fiction Content
Davis assembles creative and financial elements for PC’s original documentary features and television series as well as handling the worldwide and North American distribution rights for its non-fiction film slate. Davis regularly participates in documentary markets such as Camden, HotDocs, IDFA, Sheffield and True/False. Davis started at PC as the assistant to Preferred Content’s CEO and Founder, Kevin Iwashina. Davis graduated from Western Michigan University near her hometown of Saginaw, Michigan.
Director, Fiction Content
Galen packages and produces narrative feature films and television projects to be sold at the leading film festivals and markets such as Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Toronto, Berlin and Cannes. Galen started his career as the assistant to Preferred Content’s CEO and Founder, Kevin Iwashina. He graduated from Arizona State University and is originally from Phoenix, Arizona.
Manager, Worldwide Sales
Daniel Hyman is currently the Manager of Worldwide Sales at Preferred Content. Hyman represents leading documentary and narrative features seeking distribution at the leading film festivals such as Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca and Toronto as well as Hamptons, Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, OutFest, Hot Docs, AFI Docs and DOC NYC. Prior to Preferred Content, Hyman produced independently financed features DIAL A PRAYER and DARKNESS RISING. Hyman previously worked in Capital Markets in New York City, consulting for the financial institutions JP Morgan and BNP Paribas. Hyman graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Economics.
